Hi I have recent measured my swing speed:

    7 Iron swing speed 92- 94 mph,

    3 iron is around 102- 104 mph

    current I iron is MP-67, DG S300

    driver 910 D3 9.5 F3 60 flex :S

I have difficulty to get the ball fly lower, last time my fitter suggest I use the Project X flighted 6.0, but after I used it for a week I still have higher ball fight, even higher for the 3 iron.

    I have 2 question:

    1. I am planning to get the 712 MB soon, so which shaft should I use to lower the trajectory, X100 ; X400 or project X ?

    2. I used to play with 975D but now I get my new 910D3, but I have problem with distance and direction, I use to hit my driver around carry 260- 270 y with Good direction control, but when I change to this new driver I have difficult to maintain the direction, I can feel I hit it really hard and good but each time the ball just go left or right, and the carry distance is inconsistent as well. I am not able to hit the ball over 250y carry.

    Thank you

You need to try them with a good launch monitor to get the correct specs, have you checked your swing to see if there is any other reason why your are creating extra spin and launch.

    thank you for the suggestion.

yes, I did. the instructor said: I should try not to hit down the ball, cos this creates extra spin on the ball, and I did work on this suggestion, and try to swing the club, but this type swing will have a tendency to increase the distance not land and stop, I wish I can let ball drop and stop. by the way I am more like a digger not a swinger

your swing speed warrants an X flex in both irons and woods, Dynamic Gold will flight the ball lower than Project X and i personally think DG has a better feel than PX. I will tell you what everybody else would tell you, "go get fitted" it's the only way to do it, especially with your swing speed, also a heavier shaft in your driver usually helps keep the ball down.

Thank you for your suggestion, I did, but the result is not so good.

  6. Dynamic Gold Tour x100 would be the lowest.

    Rafael,

A good new shaft you can try out in the 712 MB would be the C-Taper irons.  They should help to flight the ball lower than the Project X you currently have.  As for your driver, you may need something that has a stiffer tip.  If you are hitting your driver high as well, then a good option to try would be the Aldila RIP 60g.  The weight will be similar in grams, but the torque is lower and should help to tighten your shot dispersion.

    Hope this helps.

    Rafael,

    Where are you located?

I can reach out to our contact near you and recommend a fitter who can allow you to try out the C-Tapers or X-100 that will help to lower your ball flight.  We will also try to set you up with a Fitter that will have a launch monitor to help provide accurate information.

    Thank you for the reply.

could you please provide some information regarding the C-Taper irons?

sorry, I did not provide my pervious Driver spec clear, I used to have UST proforce V2 7X something shaft with my 975D, I cannot remember it exact weight. but I have been relocated to Taiwan at moment and here only have 910D3 with F3 60g shaft, but I will try to find some place to re-shaft it.

    Thanks Cameron
