Hi I'm a +1 handicap from new bedford massachusetts. What are the differences between the cb's and ap2's. What are the advantages of goinf with the cb's over the ap2's. Also, I am going to buy one of the 712 series irons, when is titleist going to have a demo day so i can try all of the irons?

    Thanks, Mitch

    Mitchel,

I'm hitting the 712 CB's and AP2's on Saturday the 15th which is the first day Titeist fitters have them.

Used to hit the 690.CB's and now hitting the Cobra S3 Pro Forged CB's.   Apparently the CB's actually spin a tad less than the AP2's.  The AP2's have a chrome finish where the CB's have a new satin finish.  The CB's have a tad less offset and they have a thinner top line as well.  I believe the soles are roughly the same give or take.

I'm leaning towards the 712's but I'm going to give the AP2's a shot as well.  Not a fan of the chunky soles on my Cobras but like them otherwise.  They are shorter heel to toe than my 690.CB's which makes them very blade like and tad less forgiving I believe than the 712's.

    Mitch,

The 712 CBs will be a satin finished club that play slightly less forgiving and offer a little more workability than the AP2.  The 712 AP2 will offer 7% more forgiveness than the previous 710 model with no loss of workability.  If you are a good ball striker, looking for maximum workability, duller finish iron head, then the 712 CBs will be more compatible for you.  The demo irons will start arriving at our fitting accounts the first couple weeks of November.

    Cameron,

The 712's will remain the same as the 710's in relation to bounce/lofts and offset values?

    Thanks,

    Brian,

The 712 models will have the same bounce, offset, and lofts as the 710 models.  There will be reduced sole widths (not effecting the bounce) in all 712 irons models.

how much reduced sole is on the 712 ap2 and 712 cb? also is the top line thinner on the newer ap2 as well to make it appear thinner?

Slightly more narrow sole on both clubs.

Not a major difference...supposedly a hair of trailing edge relief as well.
