I was just fit for the 712 AP2's and I am now more confused than before.  My 6 iron swing speed averages 92mph.  I have a  minus 5 degree angle of attack.  The KBS C-taper and the DG Tour were not availble for demo.  I tried the KBS tour and the Project x6.0 with less than stellar results.  Using the s300 my distance averaged 186 with a launch angle of 14.8 and backspin in the 6300-6400's.  Using the X100 my distance averaged 190 launch angle of 14 and backspin averaging 6100.  Liked the X100 quite a bit but I found myself overswinging due to the stiffer shaft.  My question is:  Should I try and find a place to demo the C-tapers and DG tours or just soft step the x100?   Thank you.

Hi If it was me, I would defo hold out to try the C tapers. A friend of mine who played in this years British open has just gone over to the C tapers and he thinks its a great shaft. That doesn't guarantee they are for you of course, but I think you should try the other two shafts to satisfy yourself you have looked at all the options so you are sure you are getting the best possible fit for you. Jim, By the looks of your numbers you have a very solid game and I would say that it would be best that you find somewhere to hit the C-Tapers and DG Tour Issues so that you can compare the feel as well as performance (data). If neither does the job, then it certainly sounds like soft stepping the standard DG X100's is a great middle ground for feel and performance. Good luck and don't hesitate to contact the Team Titleist concierge for more info directly from the horses mouth. Craig Allan Sea Island Golf Learning Center

Thank you for the reply. Thanks to Cameron I will be able to try the C-tapers prior to making my decision on which brand of new irons to purchase.
