Am thinking of going from the JPX 800 Pro to the 712 AP1. Was discussing with a friend of mine that the JPX 800s feel heavy (+2" with KBS stiff) and I have not been completely sold on the performance. I hit the ball high and it appears that the JPX 800s  magnify this. He suggested that if I went with the the AP1s that I might be a candidate for a TT Dynalite Gold S300 and hard step to help with a more penetrating ball flight - your thoughts.

All of you guys out there reading this always remember this ---- the head of the club will always have more affect on ball flight than the shaft. I am not saying the shaft is not important, but if you are wanting to affect the shot, the head will be more a factor.  The head components can be loft, CG location, off set, lie angle....

you will be on the range all day long trying to have a major affect on  your trajectory by changing shafts - hard step, soft step, few grams of weight... as opposed to quickly seeing a difference in your shot by changing one of the above mentioned components of the head.

But do not forget the number one factor affecting shots --- your swing.  So go nuts trying to find a magic shaft or a shafting process.  If your traj is too high find a good instructor is also a very knowledgeable fitter. He can figure it out.

    Good Luck,
