    Hi Cathi or Cameron,

I have a question on options or performance in wedge shafts?

I am a +2.5 Hdcp and play the 695 MB irons with DG Sensicore X-100 shafts at 1" over standard. My 52, 56 and 60 Vokeys are off the shelf. Those have "wedge" shafts in them.

Is there any reason and or advantage for me in replacing those with the X-100's?

As a side note: All my wedges are the same length as my pitching wedge. I have done that for twenty years.

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Robert,

When figuring out the shaft to put into your wedges, a lot of your decision can be based on feel.  Many players will keep the wedge shaft consistent with what's in their irons, but I have seen differences.  If the "wedge flex" (DG S200) feels fine and you feel you can have the wedge perform the way you like it, then I see no reason to change.

FYI, For a while I was playing DG S300 in my irons and KBS Tour Black Nickel shafts in my wedges...I liked the feel of the wedges better, so I switched my iron shafts later on.

    Thanks Cameron,

The reason I asked... There is a sluggish feeling in the vibration coming up the shaft to my hands through impact. I do, have excellent touch around the greens for a big guy (6'4", 230lbs) and I do swing re-bar (X-100's) in my irons, but the feel at impact is direct to my hands like a tuning fork.

I think I'll take my Vokeys from last year and re-shaft them in X-100's and mess around with them before I modify the set of new ones I just got.

    Thanks for the help!

    Rob
