  1. Currently looking into purchasing either the D2 or D3, but am having a difficult time determining between the two and which shaft I need.

I am left handed, and need an X-stiff shaft.

    Swing speed: 115-120

    Ball Speed: 175-180

    Carry: 290-300

I have a strong grip and tend to deloft my club through impact, so launch angle is something I struggle with.  I assume I need an x-stiff shaft, mid/high launch angle, with low torque.

I went to a demo day a few days ago and was able to get set up on the launch monitor, but could only mix and match so much, being left handed and x-stiff.  They set me up with a 12 degree D2 (set with +1.5 degree loft), with a stiff Proforce V2 76.  I was hitting it good, but still needed to get my launch angle up from 8-10 to 11-12.  Curious what shafts are out there that could help with a higher launch angle, but not produce too much spin.  I dont necessarily like the idea of hitting a 12 degree driver, but if it is what I hit best, I'll have to swallow my pride.  I feel like the D3 would help bring down my spin, but hurt my launch angle, as it is not available in 12 degree.

    Thanks

I think you should try the ALDILA RIP a 60 in X. The V2 76 is a Low launch shaft and the RIP a 60 is a Mid launch shaft.

If using a 12 degree driver is what you need to play better golf, then so be it. What matters is who gets on the dance floor first; how you get there is irrelevant. Golf is about working smarter and not harder. I have a 13 deg draw driver that I have been using for a year and a half now. Best move I ever made because I find the middle of the fairway quite regularly. I actually get the same trajectory as a neutral 10.5 driver. I can tee the ball ridiculously low. ProForce V2 is a mid trajectory shaft (go to www.golfsmith.com). Grafalloy Pro Launch Blue is a high trajectory shaft and they claim to reduce spin. Most of them on the market (such as Aldila NV) are low trajectory shafts. In 2007 my driver and fairway woods had Proforce stiff ATR (soft tip) and they felt almost like a regular shaft. I also carried a G2 driver between 2009-2011 and it had Pro Launch Blue - too high of a trajectory but had a great feel. Probably should see the Titleist fitter for a more thorough fitting vs a demo day.

That was a 65G V2 shaft. I do have redundant posts.

I may have a post floating on this topic. Golfsmith showed a Pro Force V2 65 as a mid launch shaft. In regards to the 12 degree driver.... if that is what you need for better golf, then so be it. Let your golf partners hit OB shots with their 7.5 drivers while you're in the middle of the fairway. JFTR, I have been using a 13 degree draw driver for a year and a half now and it is probably the smartest thing I did. I hit it much straighter and just as far as a 10.5 neutral face driver. I find the middle of the fairway pretty well. I may get out driven by some of these young hot shots but am generally the one standing on the dance floor asking what took them so long to get on.
