  1. Just got my new set of AP2's in just 4 days after ordering. Thanks Titleist for the quick turn around!

Question: My previous iron set was shafted with X100's however after doing some "field testing" on my own, I found the shaft that I could control the best and just had a great feel was the S300. That is what I ordered in my new irons. After hitting the range and playing a round with them, they just seemed to not feel quite the same as my testing club. I took a closer look at the original iron that I was using and found out that is is a parallel tip vs. the taper tip that Titleist uses. Using the 6i for comparison, the taper tip shaft has the first step starting at approx. 10" from the heel whereas the parallel tip is at 8". Can this be the difference in "feel" that I am sensing?

    Thanks,
    Steve

The difference in steps is about two inches, but, we still use taper tipped shafts for all the irons.   Give us a call at 1-888-TITLEIST

  3. Would that difference in step make the parallel shaft play stiffer?

If they trimmed the tip properly on the parallel shaft, there should be minimal difference in stiffness vs a taper shaft with the same iron and same shaft length.
