  1. I'm curious everyone's thoughts on behaviors of people during Fitting Days by Team Titleist Staff. I have seen a lot of rude behaviors from very assuming golfers. I have also seen guys and girls that were wanting to learn more but were nervous to intrude or hit balls in front of strangers. What are the craziest things you've seen people do during these Fitting Days?

Guy refused to leave after his time was up because he "hadn't been properly fit", I was down the range and never saw him get a ball more than 5 ft in the air for 30 min. Blamed it on the fitter almost every shot.

Some people just want everyone else to be as miserable as they are.

Few years back I almost got in a fight with a guy wanting to get fit. I had scheduled my fitting, and this guy thought he could just show up and jump right in. Turned into a big screaming match, and he started bouncing his clubs off of everything. For some reason he didn't appreciate me laughing at him. I suggested a lighter flex shaft so he could get a bit more height out of the bounce. By the time everything had calmed down, yes he needed new clubs, but no he did not get fit.

The fitting days at our club have all been relatively calm. The guys and gals showed up at their time and got fit. I think I like Barry would have laughed at the boneheaded. Then when Barry recommended a lighter shaft I would have lost it and been rolling on the ground laughing. It does take all kinds.

Seems that the fittings I have gone to have been very civil and organized. Of course I have only used a couple of Titleist fitters in the past. One since has retired and now down to one exclusive. If I recall when it was outside, if someone showed up early, the fitter offered them the opportunity to go warm up until their scheduled time. If they did not have an appointment, they would check to see if they had an opening that day. Otherwise they would explain appointments only. Unless the club stated, accepting walkups. The Titleist fitters I have met have been real gentlemen and have been able to handle any situation. Kudos.
