Going to get to hit the full 910 line on Sunday in an outdoor range.  Pretty sure there will not be a launch monitor.  I hit the ball naturally low, and generate quite a bit of spin.  I am looking for a good starting point in my hunt for the right head/shaft combo with the Titleist line of woods.

Any suggestions so I don't waste my limited time at the fitting.

    thanks,

  2. Hi Bryan -

Based on that info I'd go straight to the Kaili 65 shaft to start.  Its important to remember that your fitter will most likely eliminate a majority of shafts just based on your first few swings.  Some fitters are fully capable and comfortable performing a fitting on an outdoor range without a launch monitor.  Your trajectory will tell the fitter a lot about which shafts they should be putting in your hands.

    Good luck and have fun!

First sugesstion Is don't go in there telling the fitter what you need. Let him ask the quistions and let him give you the recomendations. He will most likly ask you what type of club head and shaft you hit now. and do you like the flight path of the ball. He may also ask you what your desired flight path will be. do you want a draw or a fade. Im assuming you want a Low Draw. Either way Just tell him your old specs and let him work with you from there. Dont look at what the club face is or what shaft he hands you just hit balls and give him the feed back he asks. by the time your done you'll have the best club for your game.

Don't forget to check the swing first! Steep attack angle, out-to-path, open face will all cause low launch high spin shots... A good instructor that is also a good fitter will be able to figure it out! Steven Ball PGA ...

Without seeing you hit balls here are some things that I generally see with people with low launch/high spin players The number 1 issue with people that have these launch issues is that they hit the ball much too low on the driver face. Get some impact tape and see where the ball in contacted. The sweetspot of modern drivers is higher than the middle of the face. Go for a fitting but see if you can get some face tape or a couple strips of lie tape and see where that ball is making contact on the face.
