I currently have my 3-4 irons set at 1.5 upright and 5-9 at 1 up and my wedges .5 up......ive noticed the heel is digging into the turf on my shorter clubs and was just wondering if this could be a swing fault or just not fit right....7 iron to wedges contact with the turf seems to be real in consistent but a miss is when that heel digs into the ground any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the lie lofts. Often the will change especially with soft metal forged irons. We also tend to hit the short irons more which can throw them off. Many players prefer the shorter irons flatter and the long irons more upright. Upright lie tends to produce a high draw shot.  If your short irons are too upright they will come off left and you will even notice this with pitch shots.
