extra stiff or stiff

    i switched to an extra stiff shaft and it increased my ball speed to 163 instead of 152 but the ball flight is really low and almost feel like im loosing distance and also it stays straighter should i sacrafice the 15 yards for a straighter ball.

    Nope. Get the head right ( loft, model, setting....) so the launch and spin are good and then your set....

    While I agree with steve, it also could depend.

    If you are hitting the ball 320 off of the tee, then you can stand to loose 15 and still be okay.

    The only other thing you have to consider is what shot type do you like.  Do you like to fly the ball or roll it.  That can make a lot of difference.

    I am not high into the new technology, so I am sure the Steve knows better.  The only advice I have is to figure out how you want to hit it and go from there.

    I have a Project X shaft on my D3 that I was told is in between the stiff and extra stiff. I used it for the first time on Saturday and hit my drives great on the back 9...a couple over 300 yards. It took my about 5 holes on the front to get it dialed in. Maybe it is worth checking out. Good luck.
