I have an Aldila RIP 80-2.0-X Stiff shaft in my D3. 110-115 swing speed. I have taken 1.5 inches off the butt end and it's been re swing weighted. I have been choking up on it and love the feel of a short driver. I would like to take another 1.5 in off. Am i better off buying a new shorter shaft? If i cut another 1.5 off can i get the swing weight back? How much stiffer will the shaft get?

My information from testing we conducted at Titleist almost 20 years ago was that swing weight had no affect on ball flight. It is strictly a feel preference of the player.  If the shorter length shaft made it easier for you to hit the ball on center then that is worth any trade off otherwise -- swing weight, shaft characteristics..... on center hits go longer, have less spin, less mis-direction, enables the head of the club to perform the way it was designed.
If you want to try another before you cut yours off find a good Titleist fitter and see if he will let you use one of his 3 metal shafts that range from 42-43" length. Put it in your driver and hit it.
