  1. Hey guys just wanted to ask you what winter ball you play and what you would recommend. I am going with the dt trusoft for the fall/winter. I use this ball in yellow to help me see better with the leaves falling and everything. I also use this ball because it is very soft and flies well in the cold. Instead of the pro v1's feeling like hitting rocks in the cold. (not to say there still the best).

There are many who say not to switch balls just due to winter weather. Having gotten used to the characteristics of one ball it may benefit your game just to stick with the same ball. However, with falling leaves and overgrown rough it might make economic sense to switch to a less expensive choice. I don't believe there is one right answer.

I go with the Tour soft. I like the soft feel.
  4. I played the entire round today with an AVX. Shot 76. I sometimes switch to a Velocity in the colder weather, but after today, I don't think I am going to bother any more.

I use older ProV's from my shag bag. I play year round, mostly to keep loose. Since scores cant be registered for HDCP purposes, I don't see any point wasting $$$.

I will play from my shag bag in the winter months (mostly ProVs), especially when the ground is soft and spin matters less.
  8. I also go to the old Pro V's. I have always had a good eye for where the other guys can't find theirs. Early play in the

spring yields a good hall of lost Christmas dozens. Not sure when the last time I had to buy balls. Between finds and

winnings from outings, I think my grandchildren will also be set for awhile as well! Agree though that they do feel a bit

    harder in the colder temps.
  9. Being a high ball hitter on the wet side of Oregon, I play the balls I find or no longer game in nice weather due to plugging. Too expensive to play nice shiny $$ balls when you can plug and lose multiple balls a round. When it gets un the 40s , I will go to a ladies ball.

I save my Pro V1Xs I have played 3-4 rounds in the warm weather and use them this time of year. Just like to play the same ball all the time.
