  1. Hi All,

I've golfed for 20 years (took a break and addicted again the last couple years). Obviously well aware of how great Titleist is and always been a fan of the ProV1 but played other balls, usually based on not being able to consistently stomach the cost when I was an inconsistent player. I'm starting to pull my handicap down and am at a 13. The tee game is my weak point. 103-106mph driver swing and two misses (usually a hook but I can miss right too but usually an open face, not a slice via mechanics). Curious, for those who are in the middle of prov1 and prov1x stats, which do you use, and why? I'm starting to be converted to Titleist Balls because of the years and years of pure consistency being reported by independent testers.

    Thanks all!

I gaem the Pro V 1 Left Dash for its firmer feel than the Pro V1 and slightly less spin on the long game with a little higher ball flight. I was a Pro V1 x user prior to the release of the Left Dash!

103-106 isnt weak, thats pretty fast! You can listen to all of us tell you what ball we like and Im sure you will get alot of good answers. The only way for you to know is to try them yourself! Go to a golf shop and buy a sleeve of each OR you can probably take a walk in the wood or near a water hazard and find 1 or 2 of each. The bottom line is you gotta test it yourself, good luck!

What do you mean “in the middle”? Does your game demand a lower ball flight, or higher, do you perform better with a lower spin ball, or a higher spin ball, do you prefer the feel of a softer ball on the green, or a harder one? You should start with an online ball fitting to help determine those answers.

I have played AVX since I got back into golf 2.5 years ago, but when I got fit for my new T Series irons at TPI in July, the fitter felt it was not right for me, and we did a ball fitting, backed up with Trackman data, and determined that Pro V1 was better for me than V1X.

This year I gave the AVX and the Pro V1 Left Dash a try and, WOW, these are great golf balls. Give them a try as I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

A lot depends on your specific ball flight, and what your preference is. The pundits on the site will tell you they're light years apart, the higher club head speed guys that actually worry about spin will break it down much simpler. If you prefer a lower trajectory choose the ProV1, if you like it higher the X is the ball for you. Around the greens with chips/pitches, the X is much softer, IMO. I swing 112-115, I'm 59, handicap around 0 +/- most of the time. I just switched back to the ProV1 as a test, I can play either ball within a shot or two, it's really the lower trajectory I really like. Either ball is fantastic, it's the all around consistency that makes it the #1 in golf worldwide.

Definitely not a popularity contest. Don’t go with whichever ball gets the most comments here. Go with the one that works best for you. If in between on your decision, go with whichever one checks the box for your highest priority. That might be feel, spin, or distance. Don’t forget to add your personal mark and enjoy those new Titleist golf balls.

I chose the ProV1 due to the softer feel. My numbers were not much different and I was experiencing performance that falls between the two models, so I chose the better feel when putting. X launched higher, but I didn't need any more height here in the windy Midwest. I did lose about 5 driver yards, but less spin on the ProV1 meant straighter drives.
  9. Personally I've swapped to the AVX or Toursoft this summer and have seen a drop from 23 to 14.8 in my handicap. Little to choose between these balls, I love the super soft feel of the AVX but prefer the balll markings on the Toursoft. The pricepoint of the latter also offers a tour equivalent ball but much cheaper than the PRO V1.
  10. Hi all,

I’ve been testing both the Pro V1 and Pro V1x recently, and what stood out to me was how different they feel depending on the part of the game. The Pro V1 gives me a softer feel and more spin around the greens, while the Pro V1x launches higher and feels a bit firmer off the tee. Playing a couple of rounds with each really helped me see which worked better for my game.

Has anyone else noticed that same contrast, or do you feel the difference is more subtle?
