From my reading the 2026 AVX seems to appeal to two types of players on the spectrum. Fast swing speeds who want to control spin into greens and want to lower their trajectory. But also, senior golfers with lower swing speeds who like the distance gained on the driver from less spin plus the soft feel.

Is the AVX really a good ball for the 60+ crowd that wants more distance like myself with a driver swing speed of 90-92 mph? I've been a V1X guy for the last 10 years.

As you indicated, the AVX is pretty popular with the senior crowd. That said, a lot of seniors lean towards the ProV1x for the spin they need around the greens. Definitely a personal choice and probably tied more to the courses you play and your style of golf. If you play a lot on super firm greens without easy chipping and pitching areas, you might go ProV1x. If you play very windy, links style courses where staying on greens is not critical, you might lean towards the AVX. Most importantly, pick the one that works for you. Buy a sleeve of AVX and give them a try. They may be what you want or you might go back to ProV1x. Either way, you will know for sure.

Yes it's a good ball. True it does not spin as much as the X. Typically I play the X but in the winter I really enjoy playing the AVX. You just have to allow for a little lower ball flight and less spin around the greens.
