AP2 712 Iron Preservation

    I wanted to know if there was a technique to keep the heads of my new 712 irons in good condition over the next several years?  Can you apply an oil or weather protection to preserve the nature of the soft metal through wear?  They are really soft and kind of feel oily to the touch from the factory.

    After I play, I use a gun cleaning cloth to wipe them down. My oil can Vokey's look great after a year of play. I just ordered my AP2's, I can't wait to get them!

    Putting a piece of lead tape on the back edge stoops a lot of chatter. Take the tape off when you sell them. Keeps them pretty. Oil would only help if raw metal is exposed ton prevent rust.
