You think now that the new scotty camerons are coming out soon that there will be a drop in price in the old newports? Since it looks like there isn't going to be a 2.6 in the new iteration of putters I want to get one but if the price might drop in the next couple of months I don't mind waiting.

If you have an Edwin Watts in your area and it is having going out of business sale you might be able to pick up one there for 25% off.  I don't think Scotty's go down in value.

From what I've read Scotty is not eliminating the Select/newports from the lineup, so you might as well buy what you want.

What is happening is Scotty is moving the Golo's from the Select line and making them their own line of putters. So the lineup should include, California, Select, Golo and Futura.

    Hope this helps,

I don't think you'll find a drop in price on the Scotty Cameron putters.  Putters are not really like the irons or metals.  The newer models don't necessarily replace the older ones.

Nor it is necessary based on inventory to have fire sales.  Unlike the retail-oriented marketing companies that have dozens of drivers on display and release multiple new products each year.  You won't find large numbers of new Titleist equipment being dumped on the internet or at large retailers to clear out that stock.

Virtually no chance.  Even if the model was discontinued, the demand would be too high to warrant a discount.

Yup best bet is to buy what you want.  You can go searching used bins at stores for a Scotty but they are rarely there because they get snapped up if they end up there from someone who decided to sell/trade.

I've found some deals on ebay for a few older ones and bought some via other Cameron enthusiasts
