Last year I bought a set of ap2's after being fitted at my local titleist centre. The shafts I was fitted for were KBS tour x-flex. I'm looking at getting a set of the 714 mb irons now but can't get a fitting appointment for quite some time. Will the same KBS shafts perform similar in the mb heads to the ap2 heads? I know the mb is a lower spinning head

  2. How did you like the KBS Tours x-flex?  What kind of ball flight (high, med, low) and feel did they have for you?  What's your driver swing speed?  I'm also looking at picking up some 714 MBs and not sure which way to go shaft-wise.  Thanks.

I like the shafts in the ap2's, just not sure how they will perform in the mb head. I hit a medium ball flight (I play a lot of links golf), and my driver swing speed is 110 mph. A few mates have the 712 mobs and have dynamic gold x100 shafts as they seem to suit those heads.

Really depends on how you want to flight the ball.  I went from KBS Tours in my AP2 710's to S400;s in my AP2 714's with D5 swing weight. .  I did this to flight the ball lower and the set up has worked brilliantly.   Love the feel of the KBS Tour, but wanted a lower flight overall.  If your in no hurry I would suggest waiting to get fitted properly before making a change.

  5. You see lower ball flight out of the S400 than you did with KBS Tours?  I currently have S300s in my png i20s and they balloon on me big time.  Sometimes I'll hit a wedge or 9 that seems to go straight up.

Good advice, TT. I definitely concur that working with a certified Titleist fitter is the way to go.

This is always going to be the best way to get your set dialed in for your swing, your ball flight preference and feel preference... among other factors.

There are a lot (and I mean a lot) of great options in our shaft matrix, so working through a few different configurations with a fitter will help you in check off all the boxes and ultimately result in having the optimal setup for your game.

Good luck and let us know if you need help finding a fitter in your area.

  7. Okay, thanks.  I'm 110 mph driver swing speed as well.  I'm thinking that the KBS S+ may be better suited for me.
