Sole difference in MB/CB

    TT,

    Just wanted to get some opinions on the sole difference between the 714 CB vs MB. I've heard with previous models that the more narrow sole of the MB was better for players who were pickers/sweepers of the ball. This describes my swing style and was curious if this was the case with the 714s as well.

    I've hit both indoors w/ a launch monitor and notice little difference in any of the numbers compared. However, I'm not sure I'll get much of a chance to hit them off the turf before purchase. I'm going to start with purchasing short irons first to replace my 2008 AP2 and possibly move to the longer irons later this year.

    Hatch,

    You are correct in the fact that the swing style (pickers vs diggers) is one of the traits that may lead a player to be fit into the CB or MB.  Note that we have also improved the sole by increasing the camber on the 714 CBs to help control the divot depth.

    Hatch,

    I have the 712 CBs, so I cannot speak to the 714s except that when I tried them in store they were awesome. The one thing I can tell you is that I was in the same indecisive boat that you're in now and the only way I could make an informed and confident decision was to get fit for my irons. It might help!
