  1. I have recently being preparing for my upcoming golf season and my biggest set back thus far has been controlling wedge distances.  This is normally one of the best parts of my game.  I travel to a 1 handicap, so i am used to hitting shots from within 100 yards relatively close to the hole.  I play a vokey spin milled  54 and 60 degree with little to no milled grooves from the middle of the club down on the 60 degree.  Some shots from 40-60 yards hit and stop, while others roll out 15 feet.  Contact has been consistent, just curious as to what you all think...Time to replace??

I would suggest replacing the 60 degree wedge. I tend to replace my wedges about every 2 years. I play about 50 rounds of golf per year if that helps you any.

I sharpen my wedges at the start of every year.  I also clean them after every shot.  I've found even a little dirt in the grooves will affect your spin.

I hope you realize "sharpening" your grooves could put the club out of USGA club specs and thus disqualify you from any tournament adopting USGA rules. Replace to be safe

I tend to replace my two wedges (Vokey SM 258.08 / 252.08) about 3 times a year. When I notice a large spin reduction, they get changed.

I usually replace my 60 every year.  I  use it to warm up and hit a lot of shots with it.  I will replace my 54 every 18 months or so but if I see a great reduction in spin, they are out and a new one is in.

I replace mine at the beginning of every year regardless if they need it or not.  Nothing like starting the year off with a fresh set of wedges!
