I am wondering if it is worse to have a long club or have a short club. Pertaining to my 3 Wood. Thanks in advance!

Hi Noah,
Thanks for the question.
Length of a club really is player and swing dependent. The best thing to do is look at your mis hits. If you have trouble controlling the club, there is a higher likelihood it is too long. The wrong length, short or long, will not produce optimal results.
My suggestion would be to see a local club fitter and try to get dialed in for the proper length.
Let us know if you have any further questions.

Best to have the correct length.
Too long of a club can produce a hook (because the toe points up too much), a push-slice or block (because you hit it off the heel) or you bury it on a straight shot. The big however is that you can choke down to hit it properly. It is also easier to shank or come over the top on a club that is too long.
Too short of a club will produce a straight push (because the toe points down) or a hook (if you stand too flat to compensate for the lie angle and hit it from the toe) or you hit it thin on a straight shot. The final thing is your swing can get too steep and you hit a moon ball on a straight shot.
I would tend to err on the side of too short since I personally find a long club harder to hit.

Lou - I take a different approach here. Yes, the correct length is most appropriate, however, if having to choose between a long club or one too short, I'd take the long one You can always choke down on a longer one to make it shorter. Does not work the other way.
