  1. Hi, TT

I'm new here and placing custom order of 913 D2 with Tour AD BB5 R1 shaft through Golfsmith.  I'm thinking about shortenng shaft length to 44.5" and not sure Swing weight automatically would be adjust based on shaft and length I order.  There is no option at Golfsmith on swing weight.

    Thanks!

    Hi John

Assuming a standard grip, the swingweight they will build it to is a D1 swingweight.  If you want the swingweight to be heavier, they can build it to a D3 swingweight, but you will have to have Golfsmith note that on their comments when they submit their order to their corporate center.

  3. Wow!,

    Thanks for the quick reply!!!

I'm considering Titleist tour velvet undersize grip.

If you use a 1/64 undersize on our standard Tour Velvet 360, it will add 1/2 swingweight.  If you put a ladies grip on it, it will add one swingweight.

Yesterday I went to a Demo Day and was fitted for a 913D2; 10.5* with the Bassara W 50 shaft in Regular Flex. The spin rate was in the 2200 - 2500 range with a launch angle 14.1 to 15*. One I hit one pure I had 2500 / 15*; this gave me the best combo of distance and trajectory with a very slight draw.

So now I'm in a quandary. I like to order a slightly shorter shaft [ - 0.25" ] then the standard 45" in which I was fitted.

Shortening the shaft 0.25" have any effect on the swing weight from standard and could it result in different spin & launch values?

At 1/4" difference, they will build it to a D1 swingweight (the same as standard length)  Any change in launch and spin should be minimal.
