Probably the most consistent club in my bag is my 910H 19* that is good for around 210 yards with a nice draw.  The buzz over the new 915H series has more than piqued my interest and I'm very tempted to order one sight unseen, although I'd need some assistance with shaft selection.  But I have to wonder what the heck I'm doing, considering I already have a great club.  Moving from the 910D3 to the the 913D3 brought similar concerns, but that worked out well, so I'm confident the 915H will be awesome.  It will be odd not having the 910 headcover in the bag anymore, but the hybrid will have some familiar friends to hang out with in the garage (my old 910D3, 910F and another 910H).

Order the 915.  And play "Taps" before you put the 910 in the garage with his other old friends.  And be sure to give him a 21 Pro V1 salute.

Old clubs never die, they fade away.

I have had many people ask me the same thing before.  But I love to try new clubs about as much as I try to play great golf so I know what you are going through.  A new hybrid is much needed in my bag right now!!

I always find my older model clubs a good home to go to.  They don't need to sit in the garage.  They need to be on the course getting enjoyment with someone else.

memphisunited; After reading your post, I thought I'd mention a story that happened to me today. We have a large group of guys that get together at least once a week, and one of the guys that every time I see him he always talks about how good my AP1's look. I have the 913D2 driver, but for some reason I have always hit my 910D2 better than the 913D2, so the 913D2 has been staying at home. Well, today (9-19-14) we had our Church fall tournament, and when I saw this fellow I ask him if he's be interest in buying my 913D2 driver.(I'm planning on getting the 915D2, so something has to go) He told me the he had a Cally the he hits really well, and didn't want to change. The gold course furnished a bucket of practice balls to each player, so I told him to take the 913 to the range and hit it and see what he thought of it. He hit 6 or 8 balls, and walked over to me and paid me cash on the spot for it. He said it felt better than any other driver he's ever hit, and that he couldn't even feel the ball as it came off the face. He played the tournament with the 913D2, and won the prize for longest drive. After the tournament, I ask him if he wanted his money back, and he said he wouldn't take twice what he paid me for it. (and I got a good price for it that will go toward my new 915D2) That's what happens when you put a Titleist in someone's hands that haven't played them before. True story.

I was nervous about ordering new 913 hybrids at a Manchester fitting, since my 910s suited me so well.  If I could have gotten the S+ shaft for the 910, I would have kept them.

But with the new shafts, the 913s are definite keepers, and my 910s will serve someone else, hopefully as well as they served me.

    George T,

I would not just get the new 915 because "people" like it or it is new etc.

Demo the 915 and see if you like it. If it isn't better then why change?

There are several guys on tour that still use clubs from many models before. Why? Because they are great clubs, they trust them.

If you love your 910 (it is "probably the most consistent club" in your bag)  I say stick with it until it fails or something better can replace it.

Given how good equipment has been, the marginal improvements in new equipment are dwarfed, in my opinion, to one's swing and mental state (confidence).

Just my thoughts. Hope this helps. Good luck and play well.

You're absolutely correct James, but it definitely falls into a desire to try something new.  Not that the old is bad, but two generations later, it may just be a little bit better.  The downside for me is I plan on paying with pro shop credit which I'd have to use up this season and I may not get a chance to demo the 915H on a course this fall.  Then again, I could just wait until next year and hope I'm fortunate enough to earn some credit again to cover the club.  Thank you for your wise reply.

    GeorgeT,

    You are very welcome.

Given you may not be able to demo, I would seriously consider using the pro shop credit on balls, gloves (you'll always use them), or something that needs replacing (wedges). I think if you were struggling with the 910H I would give the change more serious consideration but given you are so confident in that hybrid it would be a high hurdle for me personally.

The good news is, I don't think you will go wrong with any choice you make. I am sure the 915H will be a great club.

Enjoy your pro shop credit and play well. All the best.

Can the concierges remind us of the release dates for the hybrids/fairways? I know the driver will be available for fitting in October with a November shipment. The 915H may be moot point if you can't order until after the season/credit date passes.

    Hi Don,

Both the 915F and 915H will be released with the driver in mid-November.

    Thanks

    Will
