  1. Hi, I was hoping somebody might be able to give me some more information on the Titleist trial clubs. I currently play Titleist DCI OS 822 but looking to update. The shafts in my clubs are regular and I would like to try a stiffer shaft in the AP1. Just wondering how the trail works and if there is a way I can try these at a driving range or on the course. I am not a big fan of hitting on to simulators. I would appreciate any feedback.

The Trial sets arre full bag sets with drivers, fairways, hybrids, irons and wedges that are at limited green grass pro shops.  These are set up by the reps and the pro for members (generally) to try on the course.  Some pro shops are open to letting non members try the sets, but not all.  The pros use them in combination with fittings. Currently, there are no trial sets at accounts as they are transitioning to the new Trial sets with the 915's in the bag.

As it has been over ten years since the DCI 822's were launched, we would recommend going to a good fitter to check out the new heads as well as some new shafts.  If you let us know where you are located, we can help you locate a recommended fitter.

We have several Advanced Fitters in New Jersey, but it sounds like you might be close to Philadelphia?

The two fitters in New Jersey are Montclair CC in West Orange - Mike, Joe or Brian are the three fitters there - they can be reached at 973.239.0160

The other New Jersey Advanced fitter is Jim over at Essex Golf in Roseland - 973.364.0440

Hi Cathi - I'm in the same area (near Philadelphia) and am looking for a professional Titleist driver fitting. I currently have a 910D2, and am interested in the 915. I've tried the fittings at "Big-Box" stores in the past, and have been very disappointed. Do you have any recommendations in the Philadelphia area?

    Hey Cathi,

Are there any fitters in the greater Philadelphia area who will get the 915 demo clubs in before mid-November as I would love to demo the clubs before it gets very cold?

    Thanks!

Hi David,,  The Advanced Fitters and Tech Reps will have their 915's ready to go by this Friday, October 10th. All Surefit Cart and Bag fitters will have their fitting tools by the end of this month.

    Cathi,

I went to a course that had the trial sets and they wanted a $25 usage fee, refundable upon purchase.  (I just wanted to demo 2 or 3 clubs during my round.)  Is this normal to charge a fee?

    Hi Chris,

I just went back to a stiffer (but lighter) shaft in my new 714 AP2's, the TT XP95 S300, after playing 710 AP2's with Project-X 5.0, and before that a set of 735.CM's with a regular shaft, can't remember which.

    I love my new AP2's!!!

If you do a fitting, be sure to give the AP2's a try, you might just fall in love at first swing... that's what happened to me!

    Good Luck!

    Pete
