Hi Mike, 

As always, it is best to see a local fitter so you can try different shaft and head combinations. With that said, when I would fit individuals for the 712U, I found the vast majority of golfers would go with the same shaft as their irons. It created consistent feel and performance throughout the iron set. I maybe saw a handful of people go with a shaft that was slightly softer and higher launching to create a higher ball flight.

Some of the pros in my region have gone to a slightly lighter and higher launch shaft...however I play the X100 and have used the X100 in mine and it is fine.
