Over the summer I treated myself to a set of miz mp-63's. They are a great club but I wanted something with a little more forgiveness. So I started my search the other day with the ap2 in mind as the club I wanted. While at the store I tried the miz mp-h5, mp-54, jpx 850 forged, cally apex pro and the ap2. The problem I ran into was that the ap2 had the dynamic gold shaft in it and it made the club feel heavy and uncomfortable to hit. I didn't have time to try a kbs shaft in the ap2. What I'm asking is has a team titleist member played the ap2 with a kbs and how did they like it. Thank you guys again.

Hi Jarrell,  Not sure where you went for your fitting, but we have several Advanced Fitters in your area that will do an inside fitting and several outside Advanced Fitters.  All these fitters will have not only the KBS, but the XP 95, the C Taper, the NS Pro, PX, PXi and the Aerotech shafts as well as graphite (if you wanted to try it).  They can also contact us and get other shafts if requested.

The Fitting Studio, Clifton, VA - Larry Bleich - 703.988.0187

1757 Golf Club, Dulles, VA - Roger Hatcher - 703.444.0901

Caves Valley - Justin Sheehan - 410.356.1319 - they may have closed for the season

I am hitting the XP 95, S300 and I love that shaft, but you really need to hit the shats.  Try both the KBS and the XP95.  I heard many positive things about the KBS shafts, but being properly fitted is the key.  Cathi has steered you in the right direction.  Good luck and you will love the AP2s......

Yea I think i'm going to go to a different fitter.  I really want the ap2 from the way they look and feel.  The dynamic gold just made the club feel awkward and I know Titleist better than that.

I'm going to call them in the morning. I also heard rumors that you can't get the kbs shaft in titleist irons or if you do its a massive up charge

Hi Jarrell,  You can get KBS shafts in any Titleist iron head and it should not be a massive upcharge.  Here is a list of the custom shafts that are available in our clubs:

    Jarrell,

I got a set of MBs this year with C-Tapers and the cost was reasonable in my eyes so you should not have any concerns. The people Cathi mentioned I am sure will get you what fits you best.

    Enjoy

Yea I do plan on getting fitted.  I just want to make sure i'm headed in the right direction.  Later on I don't want to have no regrets and play the best product around.

My friend plays the AP2 w/KBS and loves them, I play the CB w/Pxi shafts and love mine. Do yourself a favor and try all the different shaft options, I was surprised by the shaft that gave me the best results, the minimal upcharge will be worth the price for properly fitted clubs.

I play the png I20s with KBS shafts. While I do like them, I'm going to switch to the AP2 or the CBs? I've hit the other clubs JPX 850's and believe the AP2s are much better. Don't go to a big box store. Go to a real fitter.

Agree.  Check to ensure that whomever you are working with is a certified fitter......one particular big box chain has released all their PGA pros......a correct fit ensures a good investment.......and continued good play

Yea im not going to say the stores name.  I plan on going to the fitting studio at Westfield. The other day I spoke with one of the fitters for almost a hour and they made me feel completely comfortable in choosing them.  Once the weather breaks to the better side in Maryland then I'm going to pull the trigger and complete the process.

Yea over the weekend I hit the ap2 and the jpx 850 forged.   While numbers were better with the miz the titleist felt great minus one small feature the mishits of the toe you could really feel it in your hands and Im not sure if i wanna feel that during a round.  Time will tell the verdict hasn't been made yet to what clubs I will put in my bag for the 2015 season.

The AP2s are great.  I got fitted earlier this year and went with the NS Pro 950GH shafts because I liked the feel at impact more than KBS.  Amazing ball flight and definitely enough spin to keep the ball on the green.  Definitely get fitted and pick out a shaft that feels comfortable to you.

Make sure you keep us posted on what you end up getting!
