I have finally decided to buy my first Scotty putter. I have spent the past few months trying different styles and have it narrowed down to the GoLo .........my problem now is the shaft....regular or counter balance....putting has never been a strong point in my game and I tend to leave the ball short....I have tried each shaft and putt well with both...I'm a senior with a 11.5 HDC...has anyone faced the same choice ?

I have been through a lot of putters over the years, and I have found that it is all about personal comfort.  It does not matter as much about the shaft if you personally feel confident with your set-up, whatever it may be.  Leaving the ball short is more often a confidence issue than a putter issue.  When deciding on a putter, my gut feeling is what I trust over technology.  I used a Scotty for a while, and played alright.  After two seasons I found an older Odssey White Hot in my basement that I really liked the feeling and set-up of, I got caught up in what's supposed to be better and ditched a putter I had and still have confidence in.  After switching I went from a 5 HDC to a 2.7 HDC.  Putting is about feel and confidence.

Not really.  I too am a senor at 68 years of age and am proud to be in that group.  Allows me more time to enjoy the game of golf.  Having 100% Titleist equipment, they make it more enjoyable.  I have always played with the standard 35" shaft.  I have a Scott Cameron Newport 2 Nothback Select with a SC Matador Midsize grip and 15 gram weights on it......I have tried the counterbalance clubs and did not get the FEEL of the standard shaft..........changing the weights from a 10gram to a 15gram and using a midsize grip has helped me......putting is one of my strengths.....good luck in choosing the right set up for YOU.......consider a fitting......

Marvin; I'm also a senior with about a 15 HDC. Got my first Scotty last year, and as you, I tried most all of them, and the best by far for me was the GoLo-S with reg. shaft. Have you tried the GoLo-S? The "S" is for straight shaft. I never liked the looks of a straight shaft until I picked up The GoLo-S, and the only reason I even tried it was because it was the only one that I hadn't tried, so I thought, what the heck, I'll try it. Needless to say that my mind was changed about the straight shaft right away, and ordered my GoLo-S the next day, and it's the best putter I've ever played. I also had trouble with the GoLo-S coming up short for a while since I had always played with a putter with a urethane insert, but after playing and practicing with it I'm much better about not coming up short. If you can, I'd suggest that you try out the GoLo-S with the reg. straight shaft before you buy your new putter. You may just be as surprised as I was at how well your putting will improve. But one thing is for sure, you'll never go wrong with a Scotty putter. Good luck with your choice, and let us know what you decide on. Norris:

I have a png, a cally, and two Scottys......but my gamer is a Scotty........Scotty Cameron makes some great putters, but as a good buddy of mine always says, it's the indian and not the arrow causing bad putts and those short putts are consistently a result of deceleration......pick a spot behind the hole and a good follow through will cure that......senor 10 hdcp here......

Agree with Chuck Z. It is important to have a putter that fits your touch to give you the confidence. I happen have a Futura-X and added a fat grip prior to the counter-balance being released. I didn't find an improvement with the counter-balance. So, whichever gives you the confidence on your stroke, go for it. Coming up short for me is mostly the archer issue by not staying relaxed and tensing. Try a different pre-shot routine and take less time to make your stroke.
