I have noticed that some people have upright, some people have flat lie angles. When you change the lie angle from standard to one of these, what does this do to your swing?                                                                                                                                                                                                                           steve b

    Hi Steve,

Changing lie angles does not necessarily change one's swing as much as it changes ball flight. Individuals that tend to miss it to the right, or are toe-deep on their divots benefit from upright lie angles, and vice-versa for individuals who miss it to the left.

I would suggest seeing a local fitter and seeing what lie angle works best for you.

    Hope this helps.

  4. I have short arms so I need my clubs bent one or two degrees upright. I get more solid hits compared to using standard clubs.

I love my Titleist driver and woods because I can change the lie by 0.75 or 1.5 degrees upright to suit my needs without changing lofts.

Lie angle adjustments are made to fit one's swing - not change it. If you have a really flat swing plane and are moving through the impact area with the toe up, you'll probably want to flatten the lie angle (move the toe down) to account for that. The opposite would be true for someone who has a very upright swing.
