I am a 4 handicap, and I had just got new clubs. I used to have TM irons in which the PW was 45 degrees. I just got titleist AP2 irons in which the PW is 47 degrees. I carry a driver, 3-wood(15), 3-PW, 48,52,56. I do not need my 48 degree wedge anymore because it makes no sense to carry a club that is 1 degree difference. If I take out my 48 degree wedge, what club should I get instead? I was thinking hybrid but do not think I would use it that much. When in doubt I can hit my 3 iron very good off the tee. I hit my 3 wood about 260 and my 3 iron about 230. Any thoughts or ideas would help!

You could bend your wedges to add loft to each of them or pickup a 60

I'd look at a hybrid to close the gap between the 3 wood and 3 iron. Plus, the hybrid would be easier to hit out of the rough or even fairway bunkers. Steve

Titleist has some new hybrids coming out.  If they are anything like the 915s, I would go to a demo and check them out.  I love mine.  I carry a PW (45), 50.08 and 56.08 or 56.11 depending on the course I am playing......my hybrids are 16.25, 19.50, 23.25.  Also a 14.25 Fairway and a 10.25 driver.  At 69 this works well for me.  I will be checking out the new hybrids at the earliest opportunity.

I agree with previous post.. adjust wedges and get a 60. I use mine more than any other club. 60,55,51,PW.

I had tried using a 60 degree but did not hit it at all for 5 rounds. Do you think it would be worth getting a hybrid for how often I would be hitting it? I do not find myself in the 230-260 gap much and if I do I usually lay up or choke down on a 3 wood.

You could carry only 13, add a 18F or 19H, or a 60 degree wedge.  If you can dial back the 3W to 240 yards but struggle with short side shot over bunkers, then maybe the wedge.  Which ever gap costs you the most shots.

Thank you all for your advice, I am going to try going with the 60 degree wedge for now and see where that takes me. If I don't like it or find myself in need of a hybrid, I will try that. Thanks again!

I would pick up a hybrid!! They are just easy to hit out of everything and the the best part for me is the height I can get out of them.

I did the same thing, going from the TM MC irons to the 712CB/MB combo.  I ordered my 712s bent 1 degree strong, and added a gap wedge at 50* to go with my 54* & 58* wedges.

If you don't want to add a lob wedge, throw a 5 wood or 18* hybrid in there.  I use my 2h all the time on par 5 second shots where I am not going for the green in 2, but need to be on the ideal side of the fairway coming in.  I can work the ball both ways with it, and will use it from the tee on a tight short par 4 when hitting the fairway is a premium.
