Recently purchased 716 ap2 from Edwin Watts and this was a big change as I have been playing miz irons for 10 years now.   While on the monitor I hit the 7 iron and 4 iron and was getting good numbers according to the fitter.  Once I got to my course and began testing out the actual distance I was shocked!!!  My 6 iron ss is 87mph.  My numbers with mp 62 were pw-130+, 9- 140+, 8-150+, 7i-165+, 6i-180+, 5i-190+.   My new sticks are 10yds shorter.  Pw 115-125, 9i-130-135, 8i- 140-145, 7i-150.  Now my pw is running into my Vokey 52 which I can hit 110-125yds.  I called the store and the fitter wants to adjust the lofts.  I can't see taking the lofts down anymore to try and get better yardage numbers.  Plus most of my shots are stopping on the green and not spinning a lot. If I adjust the lofts down then I know I will not have much spin on my approach shots.  Has anyone else had these problems and can you help me make the best decision.  I like the irons a lot but I think I need different shafts. The current shafts are the s300 stiff amt.  I may just end up swapping them for one of the mizunos since they offer more shafts without an up charge.

Willam, it could be the wrong shafts for you. Those indoor simulators suck I'd find a fitter with an out door trackman.

Thanks for the info.  I believe that is what I am going to have to do.  So far I just have been clubbing down and playing one club less for the yardage.  I play a fairly short course and spend most of the time hitting pw-7 iron.  I believe that the 6-4 iron are starting to run into each other and I have a hard time getting my 4 iron to carry 200yds.  I have a 3i hybrid that I can carry 215 so I have an issue with that gap as of now.

Yes I agree with the shaft change. I went into the similar situation when I first got my ap2! The odd thing was I didn't change anything and the distance came back plus 5-7 yards with the irons. It was like my swing adjusted to them. Not sure if I helped but stick with them. By far the sweetest iron I've played. You can't explain to people what it feels when you hit a shot and don't feel the ball leaving the face. Love it!!
