Why is it that low handicappers like myself fight tooth and nail to keep the low irons around? I finally bought a hybrid a month ago.....BAM, I've have more eagle putts on par-5's than I can ever remember. Actually made 2. Instead of trying to pound a 2 or 3 iron from 220, which only comes off about 20% of the time.....I see my handicap dropping this year.....LOL

    Grindelwald,

maybe it's being too proud to show that you are using a hyrid instead of an iron...

The only difference between a low and high handicapper is fighting to keep 4 & 5 irons in the bag instead of 2 & 3 irons. Male ego? Keep any iron in the bag that you can hit consistently with a reasonable gap from the previous iron, not because your friends all play irons and one fairway.

Those Titleist hybrids have helped my game a lot. That is why I carry three in my bag. 915h2 (17.25), 816H1 (20.0), 913h (23.25), then 5-PW AP2s, 50.08, 56.10 Vokeys. Those hybrids make the game more fun.....I think more folks are finding out about the advantages of those shot savers.

I've flopped back and fourth with a 5 wood (913fd) and my 913h. As of right now and what seems to be the normal locations I find myself in. the 913h always saves me from my bad drives.

The 915 line is awesome.I have the d2, 915f,and two 915h's.The hybrids are crazy easy to hit long and straight.I use a 2 hybrid instead of a 5 wood...thats how long these things are.

I'm just trying to close a major gap right now. I prefer the 4-5 irons on the par-3's and approach shots just for spin alone. I'm sold on the hybrids now. I still carry my 2-iron, it holds my towel...lol
