What's the reason for the mix match?

I have seen people do this before but never asked why? is there a theory behind it?

My OCD wouldn't allow this. ha ha

I'm not completely au fait with the science behind it, the suggestion was made during my fitting with the Titleist Rep. Been hitting them really well, the step up to X-Stiff was a good choice, flight and desperation have both improved massively.

Did this a couple yrs ago with 4-6 AP1's and 7-P AP2'S. I hit the AP1s so much fqrther and more solid I had to order the rest of the set!

I have a set of the 710 AP2 which are still nice; so my question is, do you think the 716 MB are much better than what I have?

It is a very interesting set-up. I think I understand the physics behind it, but it is the first time I have heard of a fitter breaking a set into three different club head styles. I hope they serve you to the max.
  16. I went 716 MBs 5i-pw and TMBs 2i-4i. Love the combo i chose.

Question: did a Titleist rep help you come up with that or on your own? Looks awesome!

Short irons are a more blade style for feel and ball workability while the longer irons provide more forgiveness is my understanding.

That looks awesome, I didn't know they would mix and match their clubs. I have been playing CB's (690)since the 90's...Love them, I'll never switch, but I would upgrade, I would be interested in maybe (4) AP2's 3,4,5,6 and (4) CB's 7,8,9,P and the CB Gap too.
  21. I went straight 716mb's ..just love these things, great job Titleist ..I've played a lot of stuff over the years from mp-14's to the limited 1957 Miura baby blades and have played some pretty good consistent golf ..played X flex over the years but went with the AMT S400 tour issue shafts with these and now always jazzed to get out again ..really like the way it sets up, it had a great "solid thud" feel though impact ..been throwing between 69 and 74's ..two weeks shot my best although unfinished round .. -6 through 16 ..par3 17th and par5 18th was shut down due to darkness and killing my chances for a first ever 65 for me ..I'm usually always on the lookout for new/different irons but now when I'm at golf stores I don't even look at irons anymore ..it's a nice feeling it have thanks Titleist I can breathe now..time to catch that 65

Benjamin H, pretty interesting setup. Be interested in hearing how that works for you. Am a proponent of mixed sets. Go with what produces the best results, after being properly fitted. What shafts did you get to go with this bad boys?
