Why won't TItleist put lighter shafts in their premium irons? I am a senior who likes a less offset and smaller headed iron. I had to change the shafts because TItleist would not put aerotech I 70 cw shafts in. I would like to get the 716 model with the lighter aerotech shaft. I tried the AP 1 irons but I did not like the shaft or the larger head. Senior players should be able to get a better club. Golf is not just a game for the young.

You might try the XP 95 steel shaft. I replaced my S300's in my AP2's when I thought I needed something lighter and love them. Higher launch, longer distance. Never been a fan of graphite shafts in irons. To much whip which kind of defeats the purpose of the AP2. Suggest you go on the custom shaft web page and look at the specs for the XP95.

Hi, Each shaft has to pass a set of shaft testing protocols to be offered in our Titleist irons. At this time, the Aerotech i70 has not gone through our testing protocol and cannot be offered. We offer the Kurokage 65, 85, 105 as well as the Recoil 65, 95, 110 and the Aerotech 95 and 110 in graphite and they can be used in all of our iron heads. Here is a link to the shafts offered in our custom matrix: media.titleist.com/.../

Thank you. I was told that I could not get the Recoil 65, so that's good news. Are you using the 2016 Recoil? I noticed that they have a mid-high launch.
I had the I 70 cw shafts in my
712 AP 2 iron's for three years. They are very good. I changed from the i95 and picked up 5-8 yards per club and my index dropped from 8 to 4. You should really test these shafts. They are great for a senior player with a slower swing speed. I was turned on to these shafts when I was fitted.
