716 CB 2 iron v 716 T-MB

    I currently have a set of 716CB irons 3-9 which were custom fit with project x 6.5 shafts. I want to get a 2 iron and don't know which to select. Do I go for set consistency and stay with 716CB 2 iron or look at the T-MB 2 iron.

    Hi Russell, hard to say without knowing what kind of shots you like to play or how well you strike the ball, or if you are going for control or distance, but I think I can help you a little bit :)

    Tell me about how you strike the ball, and if you prefer going for controlled shots or getting more distance.

    As I hit the ball pretty well for distance with a swing speed of 110mph, I would be looking for the club to be used off the tee mainly. Most of the courses I play these days I don't need to hit driver and if I do I tend to spray that around too much. My concern with the T-MB is that it might go very high .

    With a 2 iron, even tour pros are looking for more forgiveness and all the help they can get. That being said T-MB is the way to go.
