I currently play 714 AP2's with c-taper stiff but want to up grade to CB/MB mix set. What would be the most noticeable difference? Would it be a struggle making the change? I am a fairly good ball striker with the occasional toe or fat shot. I am a 6hcp. Would I keep the same shaft?

    Hi Charles,

I'm in a similar position as you in that I am looking at moving to some new irons. I am considering the T-MBs for my long irons (2-4/5) with the remaining irons being the new 716 MBs (5/6 - 9 or PW).

I currently play the AP2s as well, am a single digit handicapper and a pretty decent ball striker who strives to control my trajectory/shape my shots more, etc.

So I decided that the best way forward for me was to book a fitting at my Titleist Regional Fitting Centre. The fitter there will work with me on finding the best shafts for the clubs. We will start with the current shafts that I have and then try working on it from there. We'll also use the Trackman in addition to being outside and considering the actual ball flight/trajectory, etc.

Hope this is some "food for thought" -- all the best in your path!
    D.

We are having a demo day at my CC on 3/19 but didn't want to wait till then. Especially since it will take about 6weeks for them to arrive once I order them. My go to Golfsmith to hit them. I imagine it wouldn't be any need to change from the shaft that I am currently using. Just wondering if it was any difficulty of making the switch for anyone and hoping to get some feedback.
  4. I'm a 2 handicap and I got the 714 AP2's last summer. I've looked at the AP2/CB combo as a potential for next year, keeping the AP2 4-6 and then having 7-PW CB. I just feel like if I have a bad day I wouldn't be able to compete as well with MB's in the bag.
