I've been a lifelong muscle back player and am thinking of moving to the 716 AP2 irons. I play wedges at 48, 54, and 60. My current 9 iron is 44 degrees. The new AP2s are stronger lofted. Can I bend the set 2 degrees weak? Is there anything wrong with that philosophy to keep my wedge setup consistent? I'm concerned that 6 degrees between the 9 and 48 wedge will create too much of a yardage gap but don't want to switch my wedge setup. Thanks for the feedback.

  2. Yes no problem...however I had similar concerns with the current lofts and I would suggest playing them at std first then adjusting later...also I would simply consider, as I have done, adjusting your wedge lofts before your iron lofts...keep in mind the bounce of your irons will also be adjusted up two degrees if you bend them two degrees weak. That may or may not make a difference...

    IMHO, Good Luck!
  3. I would play with them before bending. Yeah are soft enough that a trained club guy can easily bend them for you.

Have your whole set bent. I have all my irons bent to old school standard of 21, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48. That way I know my distances with every club when I hit them. It doesn't matter what set it has ever been.
