  1. I went to Golfsmith today and tried the T-MB 2/3i and really liked them. But I was hitting both about the same distance, 215-220 carry. I launched the 2i 3* lower and had a peak height of 30-32yds, about 3yds lower than the 3i. What I noticed is that the club head speed and ball speed were almost exactly the same. 93mph SS, 135mph ball speed. Is that expected? It's making me think that the issue is the added weight of the 2i. Both had S300 shafts.

Question: would a lighter shaft add SS and distance to the 2i or should I stick with just the 3i? If a lighter shaft would help, what are the recommendations? I'd like something that feels and plays as close to the S300 as possible (ball flight/workability) while still giving me the extra swing speed of a lighter shaft.

    Thoughts?

  2. Two things to consider: I would consider a Steelfiber 110 in the 2iron...also you may wish to consider adding 1/4" to the 2iron potentially for a little more length...so many variable though to consider...

BOTTOMLINE though is that I would consider going back another day and experimenting with the same shafts since day to day our swings can change slightly plus I would DEFINITELY hit these clubs off TURF with Trackman. The computers at Golfsmith off of mats do not always give the most accurate readings in my opinion. Assuming you want extremely accurate readings...

    Good Luck!
  3. Have you tried it with R300 or XP90 shaft?

Titleist has a shaft chart comparison on their website. I normally play a NS Pro 950 stiff on my irons, but found the stock Dynamic Gold AMT S300 was plenty good in terms of ball flight and carry distance. For reference, my driver swing speed is 100 to 105mph.
