  1. I know it's a minority, but was wondering who is hitting this driver and what is it about the D4 you like? What shaft do you have in your club?

    Thanks!

  2. I am not hitting hit however it is low launching from what people that have used it tell me...

Paul, is that true for you?

I hit the 8.5 D4 on a launch monitor a few months ago and hit it pretty well. But when we compared the specs to my 7.5 D3 I decided to stay with the D3. I did gain a few yards with the D4 but felt that the D3 was more forgiving and the dispersion pattern was tighter with the D3.
  4. I'll be able to tell you next week. New one is on order. 10.5 loft with an Aldila Rogue Black 70s shaft.

Just was curious about other's perspectives.

I have been playing a D4 for about 7 months, 9.5 degree with Diamana D+ 70X shaft. When I fitted for it, my spin rate went down 1000 rpm versus my D2 I had been playing with for 2 years. I always struggled with pushes and the side spin made miss hits move way right. From the very beginning, the D4 made these mishits less severe and I picked up 10 yards of carry. My performance in windy conditions is better with lower spins rates. I have not improved my fairway accuracy over the D2. This spring, I have made some adjustments that have improved my contact and seem to be developing a slight draw over the the previous fade. I am going to stick with the D4 this year.

I went from 915D3 to 915D4 this season... 4 rounds in with a handful of range sessions and one FlightScope double-check. I get the same launch with a little less spin. Also found that I could take 10g out of the shaft (moved from 70TX to 60TX in the 125MSI Rogue) and add a couple mph to swing speed. No forgiveness if your miss is on the heel or toe, but if your variance is middle and a smidge high or low it might be a good option.
