One of my local golf stores had a demo weekend with about 7-10 companies there. I went on Saturday morning and didn't have much time to browse so went right to the Titleist tent of course. I started off with the AP1 716 8 iron.. WOW.. IMO, it feels a little lighter than my current 714 AP1s and felt smooth to swing and hit.. Next up was the SM6.. Another wow... SM6 will definitely be in the bag after i get fitted on June 2nd @ Da Lane...

THEN, the rep comes up to me and handed me an 8 iron... I looked at the model and it was the C16.. My eyes lit up... He told me, "hit a few but that's it with a smile." I hit 3 balls.. It's hard to put into words how awesome it was to hit this. Possibly the best 8 iron I have ever hit.. Light, smooth and just flawless to hit that ball.. I seriously had goose bumps every time i hit it.. There were no trackman so i can't give you numbers but i will say comparing it to the 716 8 iron, i gained a few extra yards with the C16.. If i had the money, no question about it that I would order these..

He did have the driver but didn't hit that well. He only had one but it was 9.5 and i don't think the shaft was for me. But the driver sure looked nice though!

I didn't get a chance to take pics but wish i did.

But if you have a chance to attend a Titleist demo, go and see if they have C16s there.. Curious to see what you all think... I'm still thinking about those 3 shots....

I'm going to a fitting on Thursday. If they have it, I'll try it.

Did you hit the AP2, or any other forged club they had? I imagine part of the big difference in feel vs. the AP1 would be the affects of forged vs. cast. How would you compare head size to AP1 and AP2?

    amorrow,

I only hit the AP1s and wish I had hit the AP2s as well. The place of the demo is small so it's a tight squeeze for each company there. So Titleist only had 2 spots available for players to hit from and as you can imagine there was a line of people waiting to hit the their clubs. So it was hit a few and get out and wait your turn again. I do have an appt. in June for irons and wedges so i'll be trying ALL their irons, really looking forward to that.

Now, yesterday I signed up for the Titleist Thursday (wish you all must do, it's a great time, www.titleist.com/thursdays). I did the driver and woods since I'm already doing the irons in June. I saw the C16's again but didn't hit them. I swear if I didn't have kids or wasn't married I would buy these tomorrow. I did ask the fitter about these. It's a mix between AP1 and AP2 and they look forge to me. It was set up with a special graphite shaft and it was the same shaft I hit last week. And to be honest, I would buy it with that graphite shaft. Like I said all 3 shots were flawless. Just an amazing set of irons...

Looking down on it, it's slightly smaller than the AP1 but not by much. I was able to snap a quick picture while I was there. Such a beautiful club.

I went to Titleist Thursdays yesterday to be fitted for wedges. While I was there I saw the C16 driver and irons. After the fitting I tried the 6 iron. I knew how much these things cost so I REALLY did not want to like it.

First two balls I hit I shanked them, so I am thinking OK good to much club for me. Then it happened, I did what I was supposed to do for a good swing, left arm straight, flat wrist, head down......Holy Bleep was it good!!! That ball came off the club so easy I did not even fell it. Second ball I swung a little harder and I felt the ball compress and it went even farther than the first. I was so mad at myself.....

And yes I hit the driver too and it was just as good. Now just need to win the Powerball.

got the driver and irons on order. looking forward to them. Had T-MBs last year and liked them. Tried .com daddy's clubs so far this year. Nice. Not worth the price. These C16's are in the same range, so I'll get to see how they compare. Love Titleist gear.
