Just played my first round with my new 716 AP1's (XP90 R300 shafts) and they performed better than I expected. My yardage was greatly improved & the trajectory from the shafts I was fitting for gave me a great ball flight. My score was not great but I was learning yardage on the fly.

Thanks Titleist for making such a great product & having great reps to get them in the hands of the average player.

I have a new 915F & 816H1 on order along with a Vokey 56/10 S grind to finish out my all Titleist set.

    DM,

Wait until you see how good the AP1s are from the rough. It took me a few months to get used to the added distance of the AP1s and it took time to figure out all my new distances. I haven't had much luck tough hitting my 816 and my previous hybrids. They are the only clubs I have played with that hook most every time I hit them. I don't have this problem with any other club. I have gone back to using an older Titleist 2 and 3 iron. Good luck with your new set of sticks. The lower scores will eventually come in due time.

    Best Wishes,

    DV

    Daryl -
    Congrats on the new sticks.
I am looking forward to the first round w/ mine this weekend.
I second your sentiments to Titleist, their great reps & getting clubs in the hands of average golfers (in addition to better players).
  4. Hi,
You have virtually the same set up as me, absolutely love my AP1's, really changed my game but took a while to get use to the extra distance. I actually bought a matching AP 1 'W' wedge as the PW wedge with the set goes like a 9 iron so had a too big a gap between that and my 52 vokey.
i have an 816H2 decided to go for the smaller head, it is an absolute cannon, the best hybrid I have used by miles, I went for a stiff flex on the hybrid as I had a tendency to hook hybrids.
    Happy golfing!

Great set up. Titleist hybrids are awesome, but some people try to hit them like woods instead of irons and have little success and give up. Find them very accurate and love their pattern. 716 AP1s took a little while for me to get used to with the increase in distance. Was playing 714 AP2s.
  6. I have my AP 1's on order and I can't wait to get them. I went with the 5-W because I already have BV's that I absolutely love. Being left handed I know that it might take a little longer but I know it will be well worth it.

Congratulations on your new sticks. I have a set of 714 AP1's and I really like the consistent distance I am getting as well. Enjoy your new AP1's.
