917 D2 Fitting

    Well I missed the official 917 launch at my local club but lucky for me the pro happens to be my playing partner. He knows I'm die hard TT and that it was killing me not to be there so he called and said let's sneak out and play some holes so we can put the clubs to the real test! I'm not a technology changer nor do I believe all the hype each year when new equipment comes out, with that being said from the first drive on #1 I was asking if I could just buy the demo. Haha!! The sound is WAY BETTER!! We didn't have the proper shaft but otherwise the new head design was amazing and the mid flight draw I had all night was amazing. My only draw back was I wasn't getting any release when the ball would land. We're thinking we could fix that with the proper fitting. Overall I'm sold and can't wait to do the proper fitting. We played 13 holes and it wasn't easy to give it back.. Haha.. Great job TT!!!

    I also missed the fitting day as well. What driver are you currently gaming?

    I have the 915 9.5 D2 but I play a reg flex that is cut down a half inch. I really think the driver was carrying more distance but we just need to properly fit it so I can get the roll out. I played 18 yesterday with my driver and I still love it but I kept chuckling to myself on the tee shots over how much louder this club is.

    Ok, thanks! I also have a 915 D2 (10.5*) and was wondering if there were any differences as they're harder to see/feel with a model right after the previous one. I'd imagine there's be a more discernible difference coming from a 910 or 913 to a 917-just wanted to know how much with a 915.

    Was on vacation day of launch but did stop by a Golfsmith on my way home Sunday. On their launch monitor and with no tuning or tinkering with shafts on hostel settings hitting a similar setup to my current 915D2 I was averaging 15 yards more carry and 25 total yards more. So I am excited to get a proper fitting to see just how good we can get it.

    I seriously hate telling people that a driver hits further cause I feel like I'm in another manufactures commercial.. But this seriously does. Did you notice how crisp the sound was when the ball comes off the face!! Love it!!!!

    Titleist Thursdays will be available and all you need to do is check their availability in your area. They are free and everyone should be fitted by a Titleist certified fitter.
