    Lance,

Shafts are Interchangeable for both clubs. Cannot find any data that compares one-to-one performance comparison between the 915D4 and 917D2. The 915D4 was reported to have a significant reduction in spin than either the 915D2 or 915D3. What is appealing about the 917D2 versus the 915D4 is the 917 has more user adjustability than the 915D4 and also at a lower cost. I would imagine that the 917D2 is probably a little more forgiving than the 915D2 as you have more adjustments to work with. However, I personally would not spend much time fiddling around with the Surefit system. If I were going to purchase a new driver I would have a clubfitter view my trackman data to set what are the most optimum settings for my swing speed and mechanics. After the initial setup I would never chamge these settings unless my swing changes.

Here is what information I found on this website regarding these 2 clubs you choose.

    915D4

    $625
    Black Paint
    450 cc Club Head Volume

    917D2

    $550
    Grey Paint
    460 cc Club Head Volume
More adjustability than 915. Surefit CG System allows you to customize the internal weight distribution (using weight cartridges) within club head for more of a draw or fade bias. Reported as having more desired acoustics than the 915.

Hope this is of some help.

  3. Lance,

It will be released on October 21, the people that have it are either a Professional or are demo'ing it...

It will be here soon enough!

The main difference is that the D2 is a more forgiving head with more spin relative to the D4. While the head size is similar these heads serve 2 very different needs.
