917 D2 arrived. Check 18 minutes from getting home to range. Check 917 is just as awesome as at fitting. Check I love my wife more than my 917..... Don't put me on a lie detector. The improvement over the 913 is unbelievable.

  2. I agree Don, the improvement over all the prior models is amazing!

I am hoping for the same results compared to my 915. My only concern is going from the D2 to the D3.

Glad to hear you guys are enjoying your new toys! I was a slacker and have yet to order mine. I went to the 917 demo day and had a great fitting and have the exact specs I need from the fantastic people from Titleist, just haven't pulled the trigger. Wanted to see what the feedback was from people who are going from the 913 D2 to the 917 D2. What's the specs on your driver and any reviews would be beneficial. Thanks

Truthfully,I didn't get any appreciable distance gains from the 917 vs my 913 on center hits.
But...if you are like me and don't always hit that sweet spot, WOW! Negligible loss of distance and the accuracy is very impressive.
For me, Irons on order now, and a 917D3 will be added in the spring.
If you haven't hit this club guys, do so. And take advantage of the Titleist Thursdays in your area to get fitted. Awesome program.

Staying with my 915D2 but did order the 917f3 at the demo day at Pinehurst. That thing is hot. Spoke with Robert at the fitting center yesterday and he hopes to hear something on our arrival date next week. Definitely will be here by the 21st. Who knows on the driver, there are a lot of Titleist Thursdays and might change my mind. My 915 is performing awfully well. Did win the long drive contest with it on Friday on #2 at Pinehurst. Great shaft and setup. Thanks, Titleist.

Good day TT and threaders, I'm currently playing the titleist moto 915 D4 and was wondering if there was going to be a moto 917?

In my reading, I've absorbed information stating that the 917 may not be a better head than the D4.

Please help. Love the new look. Thanks

We are always testing prototypes on tour so you may see something in the future. We introduced the 915 D4 because there were still players that needed lower spin. Our new 917's provide lower spin, plus the ability to adjust curvature.
One thing to note is that prior to the 917 launch, for example - at the US Open, there were about 49% in D3 heads, 39% in D2 heads and 12% in D4 heads. Last week at the Safeway Open, 46% were in 917 D2 heads, 31% were in 917 D3 heads and 2 players were in D4 heads.
We would recommend going to a good fitter and hitting both the 917 D3 and the 917 D2 to check it out yourself.

Had a 913 D2 with Evo-Speeder 757 R flex 10.5 set to 12. Now a 917 D2 12 with M+ Stiff (shaft is a new version, now charcoal instead of silver). First day on (home) course yesterday. I was consistently longer than before, and that's with most drives plugging on soft ground. Can't wait for some roll. I'm 66 but play with 20-somethings. Even the one guy that got one around 290 with a Big Bertha commented that the club had a really awesome sound - unsolicited. They were all impressed that my drives now look like drives and how consistently straight they went. My longest went 230 with several over 200 and I was averaging 185 prior. This is huge for me as it extends reachable par 4's for me to 375 yards from 345. I've never had that much improvement with one club. Still waiting on an F2 that takes a 5W from 170 to 185. Literally, game changers.

    Huddersfield,

A friend of mine who is a long term png user has just ordered 917 driver, 3 wood and 816 hybrid, and has told me to try one. I darent try a 917 driver as I know I'll want one, and seriously can't justify changing from my 915!

Haven't received my yet, hope to this week but from what I witnessed at Titleist Thursdays I was able to gain 15-20 yards carry over my 915D2 but there were some launch and spin issues with my 915 that we were able to resolve with a different shaft and head loft change as well. But either way that could be game changing if it indeed carries over to the course, 2 less clubs into every green, WOW!

The 917 is superior over 915. I was one of the biggest fan of the 915. But seeing and repeating it in the testing and comparisons results over and over is clear evidence. The 917 D3 has longer carry and some roll- tighter around the target. The 917 is in the bag!

I took my 917 D3 to the range and hit it. There was a trackman there and I hit a couple of balls to see what the numbers were. I was fit to -1/2" under on length using the Diamana Blue 60+ Stiff with 12 gram draw weight, B2 setting. My carry was 10 yards longer than my current driver but the spin rate for the 3 shots I hit was 2,100, my current driver was 3,000 or slightly higher. My swing speed is 95+ depending on how hard I want to go after it. I am so glad I did the Titleist Thursday fitting and wound up with this set up. The fitting started with the standard length with lighter weight and we wound up with a shorter shaft and 12 gram weight and my dispersion decreased and my swing speed and ball speed increase. The spin rate was the same as the Fitting.

    Thanks again Titleist.
