  1. Hi I have recently noticed my ap2 714 irons rusting in spots mainly on the face. Is there a reason for this?

    TU,

I found this article about rusting and stainless steel. While I could not find any material specifications for what type of stainless steel Titleist uses in their 714 club, it is wise to learn about the properties of Stainless Steel as a whole. I would suggest that everytime your clubs get damp, clean them with soapy water and thoroughly dry them to reduce the effects of corrosion. Here, scan through this article to learn about stainless steel and its corrosion properties. Hope this helps.

The best way to prevent rust on iron heads it is to dry your club heads thoroughly after each shot. It should only take a few seconds. Also, I never leave my clubs in the trunk of my car. I always take them inside.

Hi TUser, I have heard and live by the idea that forged heads should never be cleaned with a wire brush or metal groove cleaners. This would cause them to rust done in the grooves. Plus on the AP2 you never want to put them into water, it will get into the inside and rust. So I carefully clean mine and use a nylon brush out on the course.
