  1. So I want to hear everyone's thoughts on the ap2's! I have played the 712 cb's for obviously a while now, but just ran into someone selling a set of ap2's and had an impulse buy happen and I picked them up! They look great and it seems like a lot of people love them! But I am very nervous to switch from the cb's, because they have been awesome to me for awhile now! I am hoping it works out great!

I switched from ap1s to the twos I could not be more pleased I love the feel the looks and the consistent distances and I believe that speaks volumes for what the ap2 are best at ! I know for the most part what these are going to give me on control and as I said consistent distances which I think is more important to golfers .
  3. Funny thing, I was really wanting to try the AP2s myself because of all the good reviews. I have played cavity back cast irons for a while but really wanted to try a forged set.

When I tried them I like the weight, but I didn't like the look at address, might be just me.

I went with the Forged MBs, they still have a great swing weight, but the thinner line at address is what sold it for me.

One thing about it, if you end up not liking them, I am sure you will be able to unload them as they are a great club.

    Good luck

I hit pings for years and made the switch to the 716 ap2s and haven't looked back. Absolutely love them.

Never played CB's but AP2's should be easier to hit, more forgiveness but still has a pretty thin top line that I love!! Great club, best rounds with them so far...
  6. It will take you a while to get use to them, and you might not ever like them, but I game a set and love them, and if there 716 AP 2's it's still current production, next model will be 718 2018, irons change every two years. Very solid feel, and very workable, as long has they fit your swing, and have the right shaft.

The 716 AP2 are amazing irons! I have been a long time mb blade user with both mizzy & titleist when I played often, now mostly just play weekend golf. I have also played the 712 cb irons. I made the transition this past year to the AP2 and not have any regrets. I did have a breaking in period getting use to the new weighting and ball flight, however tweaking the lie angles (1.5* flat) has got me dialed in. The 716 AP2 has given me a lot of confidence in my iron play to take on the tough pins again, no regrets and not looking back!
  8. I went from swoosh Covert Forged irons to 716 AP2s. At first I kept hitting thin stingers and thought I'd made a mistake getting the AP2. After many hours on the range I'm hitting irons better than ever. I focus more on tempo and hands with these clubs and hope to break 80 this year, already shot an 81
  9. I do hear a lot of good about the ap2's and all my buddies that play them love them. I always get my irons a 1/4 inch short with kbs shafts so the set up is the same. I was able to take them to a simulator, since I am still waiting for all this stupid snow and ice to melt!

So far I do like them! I don't love them yet, but the top line actually looks similar to the 712 cbs I feel like, and the ball comes off great I did gain about 10 yards.. which I expected because of the different forging

One thing I am still nervous about is the workability! Can you guys still work the ball great with them? Because the cbs and Mbs are extremely easy to work!
