    I hit my 917D3 driver for about 30-40 balls on the range, and noticed minor chipping on the sole of the club around the weight insert. Is this normal? I don't recall my 913D3 doing anything like that, but, that club never had a weight insert.

    may want to take it into your local titleist dealer and see if they can send it in for warranty.

    I have same chipping taking place around the weight port. Perhaps due to some contact on the ground/mat during the swing.
