  1. Hi,

I currently have the Titleist 915 D2, with Diamana M50+ Stiff flex, Spin is 3500. Does anyone recommend a shaft I could get to come down to around 2500? Or do I need to change the head?

    Regards

    Hello,
This may sound like a broken record but you really should get fitted. People can make suggestions and recommendations on different shafts but a fitter is the only way to get the exact shaft that you need for your swing.

Getting fit for the driver if you weren't when you bought it would be the best option. Dropping 1000 rpm is a big task by just changing shafts although you are using a shaft that is mid/high launch. Have you tried adjusting the surfeit hosel to see if that helped your spin rates possibly lowering your loft.
  4. Hi,

Thanks for your comments. I was "fit" at the time which was only 4 months ago, and at that point I had a bad slice and was very inconsistent. So I had a few lessons and turned my swing around, and during my last lesson I got my spin numbers with 3500 being the average.
My coach gave me a 917 D3 to try with a different shaft and my spin came down between 1800-2300.
Easy to cut my losses and get a new driver but at the moment buying a shaft would be the option financially.
I have brought the 10.5 down to 9.75 and its very minimal really results wise. So I was thinking of getting a lower spin shaft until I can upgrade.

    Thanks again for your comments.

    Regards

Search "shafts" on Titleist.com. It will bring up custom shaft options, open that and you can compare Titleist stock and upcharge shafts. They compare stiff flex shafts for spin and flight. Your M+ is a stock option that you can use as a "baseline". It gives you an idea of what may work and what may not. You can usually find used stock shafts with adapters for pretty good prices to carry you over until getting fit for a new driver.

  8. Take a look at the custom options in this link and see if there is a shaft that would interesting. Might be a fitting cart near you that has some options to try.
