Scotty has been making some tour putters with deeper face milling.  However, I think this helps with feel and not making the ball to begin rolling quicker though.   

Right.  The deep milling being tested on Tour is more feel based.  Scotty has tested different ideas and technologies in the past and everything his putter studio has found suggests that a 4 degree loft  and 71 degree lie produces the most consistent roll when struck properly.  We have started to offer loft, as well as, lie adjustments recently to help cover the wider array of putting strokes players have.  Scotty Cameron and his Putter Studio will continue to research and test new ideas on putter technology to find the most consistent and true roll for all players.
