  1. I have a C-16 driver, and also bought the new 917 they both have the active recoil slot but I thought the 917 like came with the rubber dampner in the slot, mine has none, and I've seen photos of them and it was in the 917 in the photo, what's up?

    Hi Jreeter,

The elastomer insert you are referencing was added to the 917 fairways to help deliver increased speed and lower spin. On the 917 drivers, the team refined the thickness through the channel (versus the 915) to help achieve similar performance benefits.

Hope this helps clear things up for you.

    Thanks,
    Mike
  3. But does the photo I attached show the elastomer insert in a 917 driver, not disputing your answer, but sure looks like one. Maybe early prototype.
  4. I had to go out and take a look at my 917 after your post. But it looks like the photo is playing tricks on the eyes. The channel is a little more of a matte black vs. the gloss black of the rest of the bottom of the club which makes it almost look like the inserts in the 917f.
  5. I know right, sure looks like one, my 917 is nice but to tell you the truth I think I like my C-16 the best.
