  1. If anyone is even thinking about getting the AP2's, I highly, highly, highly recommend you get them. Best clubs I've ever hit, so smooth. Good stuff @Titleist #TeamTitleistforever

Awesome to hear Johnathan, I couldn't agree more. I have used the AP1 irons before and now that I play AP2 I have seen a huge jump in my game and confidence. Last year I broke 80 several times and was able to draw and fade when needed...As best as this hacker can anyways. Will always be loyal to the AP2 family from here on in. Happy hitting in 2017!

I have always thought the AP2 irons were for better players. How good should you be before you use these irons?

    Hi Gabriel,

It's almost like the "chicken and the egg" debate - what comes first? I don't know your swing or your ball striking capability/ability, so I will limit my thoughts from my own experience. When I switched to my AP2's, I made the conscious decision that I was going to put more time into my game, not just playing but practicing.

In doing so, I also had been working with a swing coach too. So, I made a determined effort to improve my ball-striking and over the past few years, I have largely succeeded. I have managed to bring my game down to a single digit handicap (albeit on the higher side, hovering around 8).

The point is, the process and the results worked in tandem. I bought the clubs, got properly fitted for them and have improved significantly. But, simply buying the new AP2's was not the sole reason ... it was a contributing factor, but the single biggest contributor to my improvement was my attitude, my dedication and practice. My AP2's gave me excellent feel and feedback, helping me with my swing and ball striking improvement and consistency.

The new irons also provided me with the extra motivation to practice and to "do right by my clubs"! So Gabriel, that is a bit of insight on my personal experience with it -- I hope there is something in there of benefit to you!

People need to get rid of the "am I good enough" mentality when it comes to clubs. Confidence is such a huge factor in how well you hit a set of clubs. Until you've tried them you have no idea if you're good enough to hit them.

My handicap is in the mid 20s right now. I game AP2s. Why? Because they look great to my eye at address and they feel real good when I'm hitting them. Do the AP1s feel good? Absolutely. Do they look good to my eye? Absolutely not. If I tried to game the AP1s it would go badly for me just because I wasn't confident in them because of the look.

So I guess the short of my answer is : always go try a set even if you don't think you *should* be hitting them. You never know what you'll find!

One question you should ask yourself is what are the goals for your game/type of golfer are you? If your goals are developmental (taking lessons, practicing a lot, playing on a consistent basis), even if you're a high handicap now, there's nothing wrong with an AP2 as it will be an iron you will grow into. Even though it's a better player's iron, there's still enough forgiveness to not frustrate you as you develop.

If you're looking for something corrective then you should probably go to a GI iron like the AP1.

Both are fine irons. Just depends on your goals and what will help to get you there. And most importantly, get fitted!
  7. I just received my brand new AP2s last week! Absolutely love them. Purest feeling iron I have ever it and best looking too! The quality is top notch. Simply put...these are by far the best investment I've made in golf products! You can't go wrong with these sticks. Thanks so much titleist!

Agreed. I just received my AP2s. Hit a bucket this afternoon. Can't wait to play my first round with them. The AP1s are headed to the closet...

Got my first set of AP2s today can't wait until I play next.

I really enjoyed the way it felt when you hit the ball when I had my fitting.

From what others are saying in my the right choice AP2s in stead of AP1s.

I have AP2's and love them ! I made a major upgrade coming from the 804OS series. The heads are about the same size, but newer technology makes them so much nicer...

I have had my AP2s for years and love them. I have no plans on getting a new set anytime soon but if I did it would be a new set of AP2s. These look great and are easier to hit than people may think.
  13. I love my 716 AP2s! I've never been so consistent...I don't need to hit a 7 iron 180 yards, I need it to go 150-160 every time. i doubt I'll ever dabble outside the AP2 line.
